Have camera, will travel.

Gary’s career began in the studio, where he created still life images for clients’ products. Though he loved the work and enjoyed being with other creative people, one day, after a long photo shoot, he began to wonder why he was tied up in his studio all day. He is a people person, after all, and loves the outdoors. He began to look for assignments that would take him into different environments, which led to the next phase of his career: photographing celebrities. He found he enjoyed traveling around the country for editorial clients, and these commissions eventually laid the groundwork for the next step.

One day he received a phone call from Bon Appetit magazine. The editors had seen his celebrity images, and they hired him to photograph chefs for one of their stories. That was the turning point to his becoming a location photographer.

Gary spent 19 years with Bon Appetit, traveling and setting up a studio wherever it was needed, capturing everything from famous chefs, restaurants, and resorts to food and beverage offerings. He was working with the best food stylists in the nation and became a master at making food look natural and delicious in destinations near and far.

These days more and more clients like having Gary and his team photographing on the set at their locations. What’s the advantage? They enjoy the immediate access to the photographer and the ability to observe the shoot in real time. They can see how Gary presents the food or the product in its best light.

Whether you have a five-star resort in the Caribbean, want to showcase a cruise, or depict a bustling kitchen, Gary brings the studio to you. And he makes it all look effortless, authentic, and deliciously on-brand.
